INSTALLATION.

Ungrounded is a profound exploration of identity and displacement through the medium of fiberglass sculptures. The decision to sculpt only the back side of life-size figures and use backlighting to complete their silhouettes powerfully captures the emotional and psychological state of immigrants. This artistic approach effectively conveys the

incomplete or fragmented self-perceptions that can result from living between two cultures. The light not only reveals but also fills in the gaps, symbolizing the unseen forces of past experiences and memories that continue to shape one's identity in a new cultural context.

This installation invites viewers to consider the complex layers of identity formation and the invisible burdens many immigrants carry with them. It's a poignant reflection on the challenges of cultural integration and the quest for a unified sense of self.
